Bob Herbstman is a multi-threat media professional who has worked as an editor, web developer, graphic designer, video editor, and writer for almost two decades. He cut his teeth as an editor working at O’Reilly Media in the late 90s. With Troy Mott, he started Backstop Media in 2004, which specializes in creating custom content for companies like IBM developerWorks, Apple, Safari Books Online, and Microsoft. In 2011 he and Troy started Bleeding Edge Press to publish short ebooks that focus on early or hot topics. In 2012 he began working at the Sonoma County of Education as a web developer where he was tasked with redesigning the web sites for the North Coast Beginning Teacher Program and for the Sonoma County SELPA. Bob graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts where he studied English literature. After graduating from Williams, he moved to Los Angeles to study film production and screenwriting at Loyola Marymount University. A native of Miami, Florida, Bob now lives in Sonoma County with his wife, Susan Langer, a special education principal, and two boys.
